In Vol. XVIII, page 178 and seq. of the Willam and Mary Quarterly Historical Magazine -WRONG RICHARD SANDERS!] [Correct theory: William Richard Sanders, son of John L Sanders and Susannah Phoebe Robinett, was born 13 July 1661 in Gungar Hungars Parish, Nottingham County, Virginia. He was married 6 April 1682, in Chaclkatuck Meeting House, Nancemond County, Virginia, to Mrs. Deborah (Hall) Thurston, who was born abc 1665, Nancemond County, Virginia. Her parents: Moses Hall, born 1685, England, immigrated to Nancemond County, Virginia, and died there in 1750, son of Thomas Duke and Mary Maybe Hapton; Married 7 November 1707, in Chaclkatuck Monthly Meeting, Nancemond County, to Margaret Duke who was born 10 October 1674, Nancemond County, and died there in 1769, the daughter of Thomas Duke and Margaret Thacker; Deborah died in 1692; he died in 1726, in Virginia Cane Creek, New Hanover, North Carolina; Children: Richard Sanders, born 1682; Robert Sanders born 1683; Benjamin Sanders Sr., born 1684, New Kent, Virginia; Isaac Sanders; William Sanders; Francis Abraham Sanders, born 1690, New Kent, Virginia, died 1750, Perquimans County, North Carolina; John Sanders, born 1695, New Kent, Virginia, died 1767 Cumberland, Cumberland County, North Carolina; married to Priscila Pritlowe, born 11 June 1691, Perquimans, North Carolina, died July 1728, Perquimans County, daughter of John Pritlowe and Elizabeth Sobrell.

23 Apr 1681 Patent devised by John Sanders in his Last Will & Testament for 150 ac to two sons, William and Richard Sanders, and same came into the hands of John Sanders son of the aforesaid Richard Sanders and grandson to the aforesaid John Sanders, and by the death of John Sanders became an inheritance of his brother Robert Sanders; later bought by Joseph Holland from William Murfee, March 26, 1745, of Upper Parish of Nansemond, said land lying in Lower Parish of Isle of Wight, adjacent to George Keen and William Sanders, part of a patent granted April 23, 1681 to Jonathan Robinson, Richard Thomas, and John Sanders, devised this part to two sons, William and Richard Sanders, and same came into the hands of John Sanders son of the aforesaid Richard Sanders and grandson to the aforesaid John Sanders, and by the death of John Sanders became an inheritance of his brother Robert Sanders who sold same to Thomas Sanders by deed bearing date April 13, 1733 and Thomas Sanders sold to William Murfee September 17, 1737, who now sells to Joseph Holland.
