1638 Christopher NICHOLSON’s father Christopher: Married (1): 11d 2m 1662 in Lynn MA to Hannah Rednap, dau of Joseph Rednap. It is not known when they went to NC, but were there when she d. Perquimans Co NC 2 Dec 1678. They attended the Society of Friends Monthly Meetings there. Married (2): to Ann Atwood, dau of Thomas Atwood, at the house of Francis Toms on 2-11-1680. Theirs was the first marriage entry in the minutes of Perquimans MM. Ann was b. abt 1659 in England. Christopher d. 10d 9m 1688 and on 26 Jun 1690, Richard Dorman and Ann Nicholson, "ye releck of Christopher" were married. She d. 11d 9m 1743/4. Christopher and Hannah Rednap had seven children, and he and Ann had six. We decend through his child with wife Ann and dau Sarah. 1713 Quaker Graveyard & Little River Meeting House: THE SIGN READS: "The Meeting up Little River in Perquimans began in 1713 in the house of Christopher and Mary Nicholson, descendants of Nicholson's persecuted in Massachusetts in the 1600s. In 1744 the property was conveyed to Quaker trustees. John Woolman, antislavery leader from New Jersey, labored to a crowd in 1757. The Meeting nurtured Thomas Nicholson, minister and antislavery advocate, in the 1700s. NC Yearly Meeting convened here for nine sessions between 1786-1812. Social problems and migrations to lands West were largely responsible for the sale of the meetinghouse lot in 1856."
